Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TrueCerta's digital certificate verification platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

TrueCerta provides a platform for training academies to issue, manage, and verify digital certificates. The Service includes:

  • Certificate issuance and management tools
  • Public verification pages
  • Professional profile hosting
  • Alumni directory features
  • Analytics and reporting

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

3.2 Account Types

  • Academy Accounts: For training organizations issuing certificates
  • Professional Accounts: For individuals claiming and managing their credentials

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Issue fraudulent or misleading certificates
  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Use the Service for illegal purposes
  • Violate intellectual property rights
  • Transmit malware or harmful code
  • Abuse or harass other users

5. Certificate Issuance

5.1 Academy Responsibilities

Academies issuing certificates through TrueCerta:

  • Warrant that all certificate information is accurate
  • Are responsible for verifying recipient qualifications
  • Must maintain records supporting issued certificates
  • Agree to timely update or revoke invalid certificates

5.2 Certificate Integrity

Once issued, certificate records are immutable. Corrections require revocation and re-issuance. TrueCerta is not responsible for the accuracy of information provided by academies.

6. Subscription and Payments

6.1 Pricing

Subscription fees are as listed on our pricing page. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.

6.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

6.3 Refunds

We offer a 14-day free trial. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.

7. Intellectual Property

TrueCerta retains all rights to the platform, branding, and technology. You retain ownership of content you create, but grant us a license to display and process it for Service operation.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy. You consent to the collection and use of data as described therein.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUECERTA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold TrueCerta harmless from any claims arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon termination, your access to the Service will end, but certificate records remain for verification purposes.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Amsterdam.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
